Executive Functioning Success (EFS) was born out of personal struggle and a lifelong commitment to education. Our founder, Marydee Sklar, spent over four decades navigating life with a brain that lacked an internal sense of time. This was long before the phrase “executive functioning deficits” entered the mainstream. Despite reading countless books on time management, nothing worked - until one professor challenged her to approach the problem differently.
That moment became a turning point for Marydee.
Using her strengths to compensate for her challenges, she developed strategies to manage her time more effectively. As an experienced educator and learning specialist, she recognized these same struggles in many of her students, and knew she could help.
Combining her personal insight with her professional expertise, Marydee created the Seeing My Time® Program, a brain-based approach to building time-management, planning, and organizational skills. This unique curriculum has since helped thousands of students, adults, and families better understand their brains and gain the tools needed to thrive.
In January 2025, Marydee passed the baton to Time Management Educator, EFS team member and friend Julie Miller. As the new owner of Executive Functioning Success, Julie is continuing Marydee's legacy through private sessions, group courses and public speaking.
Today, Executive Functioning Success continues Marydee’s mission: to provide compassionate, research-informed support to individuals of all ages facing executive function challenges. From private coaching sessions to online courses, educator trainings, and published workbooks, EFS empowers people to take control of their time and their lives.
We are proud to carry forward the work Marydee began, and we are deeply grateful to the professionals around the world who now share in our mission, which is to empower individuals with the knowledge that executive function skills can be developed at any stage of life. We offer brain-based strategies for improving time management, planning, and organization, essential skills for success in school, work, and daily life.
Our process begins by helping you understand your brain’s unique strengths and challenges. From there, we guide you in building metacognitive awareness; the ability to reflect on your thoughts and behaviors so you can make intentional choices.
Together, we identify and apply practical external tools that strengthen your executive functioning to help you reach your goals. Executive Functioning Success offers private sessions for families, online courses for teachers and professionals, plus books, planners, and more.
We're so glad you're here.
