Teach_executive_functions

These last two weeks of August I am working seven to eight hours a day, face-to-face, with individual families. I teach the fundamentals of the executive functions of time management and organization. It sounds overwhelming — but you know what? I am having the time of my life. I am having SO much fun!

I am leading families through the Seeing My Time workbook, the core of the Sklar Process®. It can be intense work. These families come because of pain, often serious pain. The children are struggling or failing in school. There can be serious conflicts between children and their parents that can spill over into conflicts between husbands and wives.

Every session I get to see children and adults evolve and change their thinking and behavior. They arrive doubtful, or even quite resistant, and in almost no time they can be smiling, laughing, and marveling over the little changes, the very positive changes, that they are each making.

How does this miracle happen? I teach them about their brain and how it connects to their time management. When I tell them that our hour together is done for the day,  it is common for participants to shake their heads and say, “ Wow, that went fast.” They then bounce out the door, hopeful, and ready to take some more actions to improve their lives. One mother’s parting comment was, “Thank you for changing our minds.”

Would you like to add some joy and wonder to your professional life? I would like to invite you to learn to teach Seeing My Time to your students or clients. Our professional courses are beginning very soon: September 10, 2014 for the introduction course, and September 20, 2014 for the certification course. There is still room to enroll, if you do so quickly. Join us — I want to spread the joy!
