In this presentation, we provide critical information needed to understand the  brain and executive functions. We explain the “why” behind the behavior we often observe in students who struggle. We then share concrete strategies to address the “how” needed to support the development of key executive functions in the classroom.

This 90 minute presentation will develop the staff’s understanding of executive functions and how they affect behavior and success in the workplace. In this presentation, we will evaluate executive functioning strengths and weaknesses, analyze which brain functions are required to be more productive and organized, learn exercises to calm the brain under stress, and choose specific, concrete strategies and tools to support personal time management, both at work and home.

About Julie Miller, Professional Development Speaker
and Time Management Educator

Julie Miller has been a teacher for over 25 years. In 2013, she began a deep dive into the impact of executive functioning on learners. After integrating the Seeing My Time® curriculum into her courses, she saw enormous positive changes in the classroom and in her personal life. Whether she is working one-on-one with an adult, supporting a family of five, or speaking to a room full of professionals, Julie is passionate about spreading knowledge about executive function support and the brain.

Yes! We often do presentations via Zoom. We have 'seen' folks from all over the world!

 

Would you travel outside of Portland, OR to speak at our school or organization?
